The Auditors Association of Southern India (TAASI) was formed in 1940 as a Registered Society, founded by practicing auditors of Coimbatore. Since its inception, TAASI has stood as a premier professional body dedicated to the advancement of the accountancy and auditing profession.
- To spread education on the science and art of accountancy
- To diffuse professional knowledge through seminars, lectures, exhibitions, and study circles
- To equip Chartered Accountants to discharge their obligations towards the advancement of trade, commerce, and industry
- To safeguard the interests of auditors and accountants through constitutional means
- To represent members grievances before institutions, authorities, and governments
- To conduct refresher courses and professional development programs
- To institute and award prizes, scholarships, and financial assistance to deserving students of accountancy
- To undertake all acts necessary for the promotion and furtherance of the profession of accountancy and auditing

A Journey of Growth, Leadership, and Enduring Infrastructure
Under the dynamic leadership of Past President CA C.G. Venkataramanan, TAASI became the first Chartered Accountants’ body to own its own premises, comprising approximately 20,000 sq. ft. in the heart of Coimbatore.
The premises later received a significant facelift under Past President CA S. Krishnan, enhancing facilities for members and programs.

During the tenure of Past President CA P.R. Vittal with CA M. Ramji as Secretary, TAASI established the Academy of Commerce, promoting the C.Com (Certificate in Commerce) course extensively.
TAASI has also hosted national-level seminars, including a joint taxation seminar with the All India Tax Payers Federation during the 1990s.
